California LifeLine allows one discount per household at the member's primary residence. Households choose home phone, cell phone, or broadband — not multiple. Receiving multiple discounted services violates program rules and can result in loss of the discount, monetary fines, program bans, and repayment of discounts received.
Atlas walks members through the choice — matching the discount to how the household actually uses phone and internet — and confirms no other household member is already enrolled before submitting the application.
TTY users and Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program participants are the exception and can receive a discount on a second home phone line with the required certification.
